The Greater Twin Cities United Way hosted Action Day this past July in which they managed putting together 50,000 backpacks for local Twin Cities kids! The event was held on July 21st at the US bank stadium with the Vikings. Local volunteers helped put together backpacks filled with school supplies and over 100 organizations including NVF were invited to pick up the backpacks and school supplies to pass out to our communities.

For 50,000 local kids, Action Day is the only avenue that provides necessary school supplies. Each year, more than 100,000 greater Twin Cities students return to school without essential school supplies to succeed in the classroom, therefore United Way created this amazing event to help local students prepare for this upcoming school year.

During the Partner pickups, we made our way to the US bank stadium and were greeted by community volunteers. We were given a total of 64 backpacks to distribute to local youth. Giving back to our communities is an action we value highly here at NVF. We look forward to partnering with the Greater Twin Cities United Way for future Action Day's to come!
