Learning to Code in the Real World

New Vision Foundation’s Full Stack Developer Program is a pioneering initiative designed to tackle the lack of diversity in the tech industry by providing tailored training, mentorship, and support to underrepresented populations, specifically East African immigrants, refugees, and other BIPOC young adults (18 – 30) in Minnesota. The year-long boot camp and apprenticeship model, designed collaboratively by New Vision Foundation and Software for Good, goes beyond traditional education by integrating real-world work experiences and hands-on learning. Our approach equips participants with technical skills and hones their problem- solving abilities, teamwork, communication, and project management skills - essential attributes for success in the tech industry. By providing a holistic learning experience that combines technical training with practical application, the program prepares participants for the demands of the ever-evolving tech landscape.
